Characteristics and uses:
The Blood Orange tree is quite unusual. The Blood oranges differ from the classic orange fruit by their skin and flesh, which are both red. The flesh is more or less red according to the climate and the warmth. The flesh is juicy and very sweet, making excellent orange juice.
This beautiful small tree can be planted in pots to facilitate its wintering. It can then be placed on a terrace or balcony, in a conservatory or a non-heated room, in a garden or an orchard if it is protected from cold in winter (both pot and tree). However, this protection is only necessary if the temperature does not rise during the day.

Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!

Looking after advice:

Watering: As Citruses do not like dryness it is important to water them regularly, but not abundantly. In summer, water every day if necessary, in winter water once or twice a week.
Fertilizer: From March to October, give it a suitable citrus fertilizer once a month.
Pruning: Prune regularly in the spring and in summer to encourage ramification and keep it in the wished-for shape.
