Area of origin: Europe, Asia.

Adult Dimension: Height up to 2.5m (8,2'), width up to 2m (6,6').

Foliage: Deciduous.

Soil Type: Very rich and fertile and very moist. Dislikes lime.

Hardiness: Hardy to -32°C.

Exposure: Full sun.

Characteristics and Uses:
The leaves are grey-green on top and white underneath. They have at their base 2 “earflaps”. The numerous branches are spindly and a lovely red-brown colour. This shrub is used to create hedges, or for planting on banks alongside waterways.
