Properties and uses:
The Southern Red Oak or Spanish Oak takes its name from the similarity of its bark with the bark of the Black Cherry tree (Prunus serotina). This stately tree has highly indented leaves which become red in the autumn.
It will be just magnificent planted on its own in a park. It can also be grown in a line or as a border around a water spot.
