Blackberry Lily - Belamcanda chinensis (latin)

Geographical origin: China, India, Japan.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 90 cm. spread up to 60cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Rich, moist and well drained. Preferably a sandy soil. Withstands drought.

Characteristics and uses:
The Blackberry Lily is a rhizomatous perennial with slightly blue, fan-shaped, thin and narrow leaves. It blossoms from June to August. Its erect flowers have six star-shaped petals, dark orange speckled with purple. At the end of blossoming, cut the flowering hemps when they are no longer decorative and clean the clump in winter before regrowth starts again.
