Properties and uses:
The Rubus illecebrosus – called Roseberry in Japan, common name Strawberry Raspberry – is a surprising small shrub which resembles the raspberry shrub and which fruit look like bubbly strawberries. These fruits are covered with red drupelets and can be eaten fresh, even if they are not very sweet; they can also be used for jam or pastries. In South Asia, these shrubs grow wild in nature and people eat the fruit right off the tree. Very easy to grow, it can be planted among other small fruit trees in the garden but can also be used as groundcover or undergrowth plant, like the wild strawberries.

Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!
