Properties and uses:
Chimney Bellflower is a hardy, tall-growing perennial, and a prolific bloomer. It adapts to well-drained soil. The plant produces tall spikes of shiny green leaves and blooms in summer. The beautiful blue flowers produce a very light fragrance.
Both Blue and White Chimney Bellflowers are melliferous plants that attracts pollinator insects and bees; thus they can be planted near orchards or vegetable gardens.
Chimney Bellflower grows best in a flowerbed among other perennials. For diversity of heights, you can plant it next to the White Trailing Bellflower or the Violet Wall Bellflower which are more ground-covering perennials.
