Common Lilac Pink - Syringa vulgaris rubra (latin)

Area of origin: Orient. Introduced into France in the 16th century.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 6m (19,7'), width up to 4m (13').
Foliage: Deciduous
Soil Type: Avoid too much lime.
Hardiness: Hardy to -34°C.
Exposure: Full sun for the best flowering.

The flowers of the Common Lilac will easily ornate your spring bouquets. This quick growing shrub with its erect shape is a 'must have' in our gardens. The Lilac 'Souvenir de Louis Spath' blossoms in April- May in long panicles of double, extremely fragrant, dark reddish-purple flowers.
