Area of origin: Northern hemisphere.

Adult dimensions: Height up to 4 metres.

Foliage: Deciduous.

Soil Type: Any, moist and well drained.

Hardiness: Hardy to -20°C.

Exposure: Light shade to full sun.

Characteristics and uses:
Its superb pink flowers of 20 centimetres in diameter, with their paler center and golden stamen appear from May through to September. The fruits of this clematis are equally decorative.
This clematis performs as well in containers as planted in the garden. It likes to climb around tree trunks or along fences. It combines extremely well with white clematis.
It likes to have its roots in the shade and its head in the sun.
It will thrive on a light regular watering coupled with mulching. Pruning early March will encourage it to develop its branches and reinvigorate after very cold winters.
